Home workouts vs gym workouts, the great debate continue! While each one has its ups and downs, You want to workout at home, well that`s Great!! You want to work out in the GYM, well that is great too!!

Let’s peek which is the best as joining a gym or doing workouts at home.

Workouts at GYM

1) Space

This is probably the best part of training in the gym- having a spaced dedicated to exercise. Your environment plays a big role in your psychology and being in the right mental state makes all the difference between getting a great workout. Often our homes are built for comfort and relaxation. They surround us with distractions and it can be difficult to get a good workout if you’re not focused. Working out at the gym is like studying at the library. You’re able to focus on that task at hand.

2) Equipment

The gym is sure to have a much greater variety of equipment. Heavy Squats racks, dumbbells, kettlebells, machines, cardio equipment – It’ll likely have it all. Some of these things you can get for your home, but for most, it won’t make sense.

3) Community

A good gym should feel like a second home. It should be a place you look forward to going and you will likely meet other people with similar goals. Most commercial gyms offer classes which is another great way to get the community feel to your exercise.

4) Cost

Money shouldn’t be something to stop you from getting healthier. Working out at home can be a great alternative to paying gym dues. With an investment in some equipment, it is possible to get a killer workout all from the comfort of your living room. A 50 dollar gym membership can cost as much as 600 dollars a year.

5) Convenience

This is the biggest advantage to working at home. Your living room is closer than the nearest gym. You are much more likely to work out if it’s convenient than if you have to go out. If you had a long day, or just feeling like staying in then having some equipment can still allow you to workout without going back out.

6) Comfort

By comfort, I don’t mean laying on your sofa doing a bicep curl in your underwear. The gym can be an intimidating place if you are insecure or new to working out. The anxiety of the gym can be a big obstacle that stops many from sticking to a gym routine. Working out at home can be a great alternative to work out and try new things without the fear of being judged.

7) Simplicity

There was a time when you couldn’t afford a gym and had to workout at home. All I had was a pull-up bar, a knock-off TRX, and a Weight Vest. The reason is that my workouts were simple. I didn’t have a bunch of equipment so I had to stick to a simple program. Often what I see (and I’m guilty of this too) is the tendency to jump to the next cool type of training once the current one gets hard. This means the body never has time to adapt. Sometimes simplifying things and having constraints can do you good.

8) Resources

Those are a few of the big positives for each. In either case, anything that gets you working out consistently will give you results. In the gym, there’s always a lot to work with. The home requires a person to be a bit savvier in how they progress.

Whatever you choose, what’s most important is honouring the one body you were given to live in and explore in. We don’t find time to take care of ourselves, we make it!
