Mum shares horrifying Creme Egg picture as warning to other parents about ingredients

Easter will be here before we know it and many a parent will be bracing themselves for the upcoming sugar-fest.

We know chocolate isn’t exactly a health food and Creme Eggs, with their sweet fondant centre, are particularly naughty (and delicious).

But one mum has worked out EXACTLY how much sugar is contained in a single Creme Egg.

Tellingly, she also issued a warning with her photo, saying it might “upset” die-hard Creme Egg fans.

“This amount of sugar in ONE Creme Egg?? Surely not…crikey!”

In the photo, the mum has measured out the amount of sugar and, to give you an idea of scale, included a two pence coin.

We’re know they’re not exactly a superfood

As horrifyingly large as that pile of sugar is, plenty of people were upfront about the fact they were still going to eat Creme Eggs.

One defiant fan wrote: “I don’t even care, I’m still gonna eat a multipack in one sitting on more than one occasion. Creme eggs are too good to give a s**t.”

People also pointed out the amount of sugar the mum had measured out couldn’t physically fit in an Creme Egg.

“Couldn’t fit that much sugar in the egg. This is a lie,” one fumed.

A single Creme Egg weighs just 34g, and while there’s no actual figure on the ingredients saying how much sugar there is, it’s believed to be between 20 and 25 grams.

Which, proportionally, is a lot, especially when you consider the NHS advises that adults should have no more than 30g of free sugars a day.
