Namita Nayyar:

You graduated with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree with top of the class in 2016 and also hold a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. You loved competing in pageants. You have won Mrs. Arkansas 2018, Mrs. North Continent 2018, and then reached the pinnacle of success by becoming Mrs. USA 2020. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?

Cassandra Lang:

I knew I wanted to be a pharmacist since I was 17. I love helping people and I was really good at chemistry and math. I grew up on a farm in rural Arkansas. My parents didn’t have a lot of money and I started doing pageants at a young age to win scholarships for college. I was the first member of my family to attend college.

After graduating and having my son, I wanted to get back into pageants to inspire mothers everywhere that they can still be beautiful after having a child and can still chase their dreams. I was blessed to win Mrs. Arkansas, then Mrs. North Continent Globe and finally Mrs. USA World of the Galaxies 2020.

Namita Nayyar:

You are an international model. You move from the United States to Europe and to Asia for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures, it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?

Cassandra Lang:

When I’m traveling to a new country, I research the culture, the language and the food. I love learning about new places and people so when I arrive I have a good understanding of their values and languages. I even try to learn enough of the language to attempt to speak to locals. You just have to embrace the culture and be adaptable. I recommend reading a book on the country you’re traveling too. I have dozens of Rick Steve’s Travel books and they are amazing.

Namita Nayyar:

You are pharmacist, personal trainer, wife, mum, international runway model, and currently Mrs. USA 2020! How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Cassandra Lang:

I am ‘on the go’ a lot with everything I’m involved with in my career. I work in the pharmacy weekly and then prep for runway shows in the spring and fall. My family travels with me to most photo shoots and runway shows so we get to spend time together and share those moments as a family.
