How to Watch the 2019 Emmys Without a TV

By | September 22, 2019

Remember when you were like “damn, I should probably get cable in time for awards season” and then you logged into your parents’ Netflix account instead? Yeah, well, the 2019 Emmy Awards are here, and if you’re reading this, it probably means you have approximately zero ways to watch due to not owning a TV. Fortunately for you, not all is lost. There are several ways to ensure that you don’t miss out on the biggest the second biggest the third biggest, maybe, award show of the season, and we’ve rounded them up below. Sunday night sucks so you might as well spend it watching Giuliana Rancic make painful small-talk with visibly uncomfortable celebrities!

No TV? NOT A PROBLEM

First of all, the Emmys are airing this Sunday on Fox at 8:00 pm ET. Which is great for people who have access to Fox, and not so great for the rest of us poor souls. But don’t worry, because you still have several options.

If you have a computer or phone, you should be able to easily stream the show at Fox.com (which requires a cable subscription so make sure to steal that from your mom ASAP) or the FOX NOW app.

DOWNLOAD THE APP

You can also do that thing where you sign up for a “free trial” of either YouTube TV, PlayStationVue, or Hulu + Live TV. And then obviously quit it on Monday morning because who wants to pay for sh*t, not me!

Get YouTube TV

Get Hulu + Live TV

Get PlayStation Vue

Give Me Ryan Seacrest or Give Me Death

If you’re only here for the red carpet, wow, we have so much in common!!!!!!!! Fortunately, E!‘s never-not-hilarious Countdown to the Red Carpet (aka a parade of C-list actors and inexplicable musings by confused correspondents, god bless ’em) begins (insanely) at 4:30 pm ET, followed by the actual “Live From the Red Carpet” at 6:00 pm ET. Meanwhile, Fox is attempting to get people to watch their pre-show (again, GIVE ME RYAN SEACREST OR GIVE ME DEATH) at 6:30 pm ET, and there will be a hour-long “arrivals special” at 7:00 pm ET.

I Live for Backstage Antics!

First of all, why? Second of all, like, okay, sure. In that case, you can head over to Emmys.com during the broadcast to get a look at the winners BTS. God speed.
