Guys, Prince Philip Got Into a Scary Car Accident But He's Safe

On Thursday afternoon, Prince Philip, 97, got into a car accident, according to Buckingham Palace officials.

Rebecca English, Daily Mail‘s royal correspondent, posted the palace’s statement, which said, “the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon.”

British television network ITV News reports the accident took place around 3 p.m., and obtained photos of the scary incident, which left a black Range Rover turned on its side and another off the road. The BBC reports Prince Philip was driving the Range Rover.

According to the palace’s statement, Prince Philip was not injured in the accident, which happened near the Queen’s Sandringham Estate about 100 miles north of London where the royals spent Christmas. The palace stated that local police came to the scene of the accident, and according to ITV News, a Norfolk police spokesperson said two people had minor injuries.
