A number of states now allow parents to opt out their children from vaccinations required by schools. These states are Arizona, Arkansas,Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Utah.

Parents of children who live in these states need to get non medical exemptions (NMEs) based on antivaccination beliefs. Parents have the right to believe what they want to believe, but it is my opinion that they also need to consider the well being of their children. There have been recent outbreaks of measles and whooping cough because of inadequate vaccination. Is it worth the risk to not vaccinate your child?
